“Guests at the door” or Roasted Pears with Cheese

It snows… A pure white snow covers everything: stressful days, past failures, inner doubts and hidden troubles. It offers you an ideal opportunity to turn over a new leaf.

It snows… Everybody stays at home in their cozy houses… Except your friends. They drop in for to visit you;))

So, this quick and healthy appetizer is a perfect recipe for unexpected quests.

P.S. Roasted Pears with Cheese work amazingly with wine. Need I say more?;))

  • 150 g of semi-soft or firm cheese (Emmental, Gouda, Edam, Cheddar) | 1 1/2 cups
  • 4 pears
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Sugar  (optional)

Preheat the oven to 390 degrees F (200 С).

Cube cheese.

Slice pears lengthwise into halves.

Remove the core and seeds from each pear.

Mix in a small bowl pear pulp, cheese, egg yolk, salt, pepper and season with nutmeg.

Place  the mix in the wells left by the removed cores.

Bake  about 20 minutes.
